More than 3 weeks have passed since you announced (on 22 May) that you were delaying your AGM, annual report and Council election, without saying any more than this was "for operational reasons". I understand that prospective candidates for Council have not been given any more information than that. And (very unusually, since the IFoA council page on its website shows no more meetings after the one being held today) they have not even been informed of when the Council meetings are for the next year, so that they might find it difficult to avoid diary clashes.In the absence of any explanations, the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries is displaying contempt for council candidates, for the democratic process and the public.Isn't it time that the current leadership were held accountable for this shambles? #leadership #transparency #governance #ifoa #fail

This date signifies the date of the very first International Congress of Actuaries, which was held in Brussels, Belgium on September 2, 1895.
