What is the downside of Spectrum Mobile? ›

You must be a Spectrum Internet customer to sign up for Spectrum Mobile. It uses Verizon's network, which is reliable but lacks 5G coverage compared to T-Mobile and AT&T. Speeds are deprioritized when there is high network traffic.

Verizon Fios, however, offers faster speeds of up to 2.3 Gbps while Spectrum tops out at 1 Gbps. Their upload speeds differ even more. With its fiber connection, Verizon can provide upload speeds between 300 Mbps and 2.3 Gbps. On the other hand, Spectrum offers much slower upload speeds between 10 and 35 Mbps.
