Igon is one of the new NPCs you’ll encounter in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree who has a questline that runs alongside the main story. A draconic warrior intent on revenge against a particular fearsome beast, he works alongside the Priestess as part of The Dragon Communion Ascetics. To complete his side quest, here’s everything you need to know from where to find him, to the choices you’ll face, and the outcomes of those decisions.

Where to Find Igon (First Encounter) - Exact Location

Igon can also be found in the southeast of Gravesite Plain, west of where you’ll find Thiollier. If you take the path to the south after crossing the Ellac Greatbridge, you’ll reach a fork in the road. Heading to the left (east) will take you to Thiollier while taking the path south past the gravestones will get you to the Pillar Path Waypoint Site of Grace. As you approach, you’ll hear someone crying out nearby. This is Igon and he can be found immediately west of the Site of Grace, on the floor in pain.

If you try to talk to him, you’ll get little out of him except his cries of pain. Come back to him a little later on and he’ll be sat slightly up now. The conversation is one-sided, as he talks about finding Bayle.

Entering the Jagged Peak

South of where Igon lay in the Gravesite Plain, you’ll find the Dragon’s Pit. This will take you through to the southern part of the map, to the Jagged Peak, where the Grand Altar of Dragon Communion can be found. Once you make it through the pit, Igon will move on.

Though you won’t see him, you can find a message from him shortly after you exit from the Dragon Pit Terminus Site of Grace. Head east, but take the path up the mountain on the southeast to find what looks like a summoning stone, with a message from Igon. It reads “Bayle! O terror incarnate! Again I stand afore ye… “

At the Jagged Peak

To find Igon again, go north from this message. If you're coming at the area from the the Dragon's Pit, then you'll want to go east toward the lake where the Jagged Peak Drake lays. Then, look to the left (northeast) and you’ll see an archway with a path that leads you further up the Jagged Peak.

Head up here, and it will curve around to the south before going east again. At the end of the path, you’ll reach a Spiritspring to climb up. At the top of the Spiritspring, turn to the southeast to find a rope bridge you’ll need to cross to reach the Foot of the Jagged Peak Site of Grace.

Continue the path up to the south and then turn to the east again, where you’ll be met by two Jagged Peak Drakes fighting it out. You can step back and allow them to take chunks out of each other’s health before you need to step in. But you’ll want to take them down to be reunited with Igon. When they’ve both been defeated, you’ll hear Igon cackling in the distance. Head east further into Jagged Peak and speak to him.

Having seen you take down the Jagged Peak Drakes, Igon will request your assistance with finally taking down Bayle. He’ll tell you to climb to the top of the Jagged Peak, where you can find the monstrosity. He’ll also give you Igon’s Furled Finger - a summoning device you can use to call him during the fight.

How to Find Bayle

Continue east past Igon and ride two Spiritsprings up. Go through the cave to the southeast and then head south. Be careful of the falling boulders that will start to roll down toward you on this section. As you follow the path, you’ll co sleeping Ancient Dragon Senessax the northeast. Here you’ll find the sleeping Ancient Dragon Sennesax.

You don’t need to fight this to reach Bayle, so if you fancy skipping the fight, run through the cave and find the steep slope up in the north of the cave that’s lined with dragon bodies. This will bring you to the Jagged Peak Mountainside Site of Grace.

From here, carefully follow the mountainous path to the southwest, where you’ll reach another Spiritspring. At the top, drop down to the southwest and continue following the path carefully. The path will start to become smaller, and will turn around to the south. You’ll need to hop over a couple of gaps to follow it, but you’ll shortly arrive at another Spiritspring.

Use this to climb even further up, then go east into the cave. Look up to the northeast and you’ll see another Spiritspring.

To the north, you’ll see a dragon’s body and a small path that isn’t immediately obvious that will lead you around to a final Spiritspring and the Jagged Peak Summit Site of Grace. Just up ahead, is the arena where you’ll take on Bayle.

After the Bayle Fight

Once Bayle has been defeated, return to where you last saw Igon after the fight with the two Jagged Peak Drakes. Sadly, all that’s left of him is his body, from which you can collect:

  • Igon’s Greatbow
  • Igon’s Helm
  • Igon’s Armor
  • Igon’s Gauntlets
  • Igon’s Loincloth
  • Igon’s Bell Bearing
