Does anyone use stuff like X Attack and Defend? (2024)

I think I only used them like one time, but other than that, no I don't use them, I feel like it's a waste of a turn, and with stat boosting moves, at least some of them boost a certain stat by 2 stages, or gives you two stat boosts as well. Really, I just sell X Stat Boost items for money and because they take up space in certain games.

I think I might have used them once in Red or something.

They're so useless but at the same time they're so useful when you're short on money. There has been many times where I needed potions but I didn't have the money, so I just sold all of my X-stat boosters and was able to afford the potions.

If I decide to underlevel for a challenge, by the time I reach the E4 I may use a few X-Items in conjunction with healing items to make for easier sweeps.

I think I used them a few times way back in Red, but since then I just sell them. Especially early on, what would you rather have - X items, or a few spare Potions?

I've never used one... ever. Since my pre-ordered Red version arrived... i have never used one ONCE. XD

Out of all the years I've played the games, I think i've only used 1 x-item. DPPt had a really good idea giving those items their own pocket so you can completely ignore them.

nope never in all the years i have played pokemon ( right form Red&Blue&Yellow by the way) never not one have i ever used them and i usaly don't use Swords dance or any of that although i am learning (thanks to following Marrilands guids XD) but nope i don't sell them either i just leave them to rot in their little pocket unless i'm realy short on cash

I love how most people are bent on saying they don't use them but sell them, lol. I use them occasionally in gym battles, but only there, I've never used them in normal battles. They can be really helpful to power up a stat you pokemon is weak in.

Nope. Don't even think about them. If I want to boost one of my Pokémon's stats, I'll just teach it a move that does it.

Psh, use those? Yeah sure. I used one once to buy a turn when I didn't want to attack.

I don't think I've EVER used them in my whole entire Pokemon playing life. I sell them almost right after I find them, usually to buy potions and stuff. I just think they're a waste of a turn. If I use any kind of move that isn't a right away damage inflicting move, I use Stun Spore or something like that. But that's about it. I usually delete moves like Tail Whip.

Ummm, no. I always sell them, excpet in GenIV, where they just sit in the battle items pocket, unused.
