We are a couple selling our 1986 Volkswagen Vanagon GL. We bought this Vanagon not running, in BAD shape, and restored it. By that we mean we have gone over every part of this van. Interior was brought down to metal, cleaned, treated, and rebuilt. This 1986 Vanagon GL is a Wolfsburg edition Westfalia with sought after 2.1 engine with AC, that spent its life in Utah before it came to us. No title, as VT does not issue titles for cars older than 15 years, and mileage is unknown (odometer was broken, since been replaced). Cylinder compression tests passed. We have registration papers and will offer bill of sale. We added the folding backseat/bed, and this is a Westfalia pop top tent which includes a second bed in the pop top. As you will read below, we redid the interior, added electrical and water system, inclduing solar panels, sink, fridge, and lights.

We really enjoy restoring Volkswagen, and have loved our time, incredible adventures & travels with this one. For us, it is time to allow someone else to enjoy it and make memories with it, and time for us to start another project. Keep in mind, this car is an 1986 and has its quirks, as should be expected and so it is being sold as is.

Some of the most important pieces of information are listed below:
- ALL aspects of fuel system have been replaced (including gas tank)
- ALL grounds for engine compartment electronics replaced (AFM, temp sensors, coil cables, alternator cables, and ICS)
- new Go Westy throttle body, known good AFM.
- Front heater core and fan replaced (heat works great)
- general tune up by Vanagon specialist completed less than 20miles ago (including all fluids replaced)
- electrical system: complete leisure battery electrical replacement. 2x100w solar panels installed, electrical anti-theft device installed (will show post purchase). Battery combiner (bluesea). leisure circuit fusebox for expandability (bluesea). NOTE: This model has the upgraded alternator with new regulator to charge both battery systems. 1 PD USB-C port (can charge laptops direct), and additional USB charging ports.
- Lights: headlights upgraded to higher voltage, light bar on top of vanagon installed, led strip lights inside (RGB). We also have some magnetic rechargeable LED bars for extra lighting.
- Fridge: efficient DC chest fridge installed with eco mode. Sustained cold temps in 100 degree temperatures.
- Interior redone including: custom cabinets, new gutter, new insulation, new interior panels, new carpet, new flooring (waterproof, scratch resistant vinyl). Overall, we added more storage than stock models.
- Water system: installed sink, faucet, removable water holding container (20L). (Faucet switch is broken but still works/finicky, could be replaced)
- Brand new pop top tent
- Swivel seat installed for passenger seat, seats are in good condition, armrest models, no tears.
- Bonus Star Wars fact: We had purchased this van on Star Wars Day and it has a Star Wars-related name, although you are welcome to rename it whatever feels right to you.

Needs/ potential projects:
- headliner over cab
- 2 of tires are new, 2 of tires need replacement (all seasons)
- curtains (there are some, but not uniform/matching)
- Driver & passenger door panels not yet redone (we have the ABS plastic for it)
- bed could be redone (original foam ? can’t say for sure)
- starter is working but will need to be replaced as it is showing symptoms
- no current music system (we were using a portable bluetooth speaker)
- Exterior surface rust. There is no structural rust, all rust on vehicle is surface. Van kept in garage when not in use.
- Horn (does not work at all)

- rear brake replacement kit (pads, springs, etc…)
- upgraded rims
- auxillaurily flood lights
